I'm auctioning off some of my old video games, so if you'd like to pick up some SNES or Genesis games (and Atari, later, when I figure out how I'm going to sell them), I have 40 of them listed to choose from. Click here to view my current listings, or click the LJ-cut for a list of everything that's been put up there so far.

Can't remember a game [03 Apr 2006|12:18pm]

[ mood | nostalgic ]

I need help with remembering an old NES game. All I remember is that you play the role of two guys. You walk the streets and have to beat up bad guys. You can collect money and go into shops and buy power ups and read books which teach you new skills. You can pick up objects and throw them. I remember one of the objects was a gold coin-like disk.

Any ideas?

Hi all. I have more or less been gaming more of my life but now I am turning into a bit of a hardcore collector. When more money comes in I plan to start going after those hard to find games :D. I was just wondering if anyone here plays Atari 2600 or Colecovision and would like to compare scores and such. I need to find people to have friendly competions with :)

And I would love to add any retro gamers to my LJ as well. :D

Girly Girl Games? [23 Feb 2006|05:08pm]

[ mood | accomplished ]

Okay I recently started downloading roms and I have quite a few emulators because I've found that some games just won't work with certain emulators.

I was wondering if anyone could kindly tell me a few names of some of the more girlier games for NES, or SNES? I know this may sound like a dumb question. But I have a few cousins whom are on the more girly side and they just do NOT like the games that I already have d/l on my pc. I was/am hoping that some of you guys could have some suggestions for some games that I could look for, and possibly even give me a few links to download the game. If you could be so kind, I'd be so greatful. :) thanks for your time.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

Hi, I have a somewhat unusual "gaming art history" question: what is up with the depiction of meat in early videogames? There's this particular image of meat that shows up in at least 9 videogames I know of, including:

The Legend of Zelda

Metal Slug

Final Fight 2

Here's a quick sketch of it:

Does anyone know where this image might have originated? I am dying to find some kind of answer or reason why this image has become so common. Feel free to repost this if you're curious too. Thanks!

[ mood | cranky ]

I used to be a Sega Genesis fiend, but I haven't played in a long time. I'm looking to find a one and start playing again, and I'm trying to remember the games I used to play so I can buy those, too, but there is one I cannot for the life of me remember the title of.
There was this tiny, short little guy. You could find different suits I believe; one was knight's armour and one was a dragon. Really, the details are terribly fuzzy, as it's been probably 8 to 10 years since I've played it. I believe in the first level you started in this green grassy area and ended up in a cave sooner or later.
Gah, this is probably horribly vague, but I'm dying to remember what this game was because I loved it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
